1. Who we are
Clipadi (https://clipadi.com) is operated by Mammar Digital Solutions LLP, Kavumpuram, PO Thozhuvanoor, Valanchery, Malappuram District, Kerala 676552, India (“Clipadi”, “we”, “us”). We are the data fiduciary for the personal data described here.
2. What we collect
- Account details — name, email address, password (stored only as a salted hash), display name, username, profile picture, and whether you use Clipadi as a creator or a clipper.
- Payout details (clippers) — UPI ID, your full name, a mobile number and, if you choose to give it, your PAN. We use these to confirm who we are paying before a first withdrawal and for tax records. A PAN is stored encrypted and is only seen by the staff who check it.
- Social accounts — the public handle of Instagram or YouTube accounts you link, and a one-time verification code you place in your bio. We never ask for your social-media password and never connect to your account through OAuth.
- Campaign and clip data — links you submit, the public view counts and thumbnails of those posts, campaign titles, budgets and rules.
- Payment data — amounts, PayU transaction and payment IDs, and payout records. Card, UPI and bank details entered at checkout go directly to PayU; we never see or store them.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, pages visited and timestamps, collected in server logs, plus a session cookie and a theme-preference cookie.
3. Why we use it
- To run the service: match clippers with campaigns, verify that a submitted clip belongs to you, count views, calculate earnings and make payouts.
- To process payments and refunds and to issue GST invoices.
- To prevent fraud (fake views, duplicate accounts) and to comply with tax and legal obligations, including TDS where applicable.
- To contact you about your account, campaigns and payouts. Marketing emails are sent only if you opt in, and every one has an unsubscribe link.
4. Who we share it with
- PayU (PayU Payments Private Limited) — for collecting payments and, in future, sending payouts. Their privacy policy applies to data you enter on their checkout.
- View-count providers — we query YouTube’s Data API and a third-party Instagram data service using only the public URL of a clip. No personal data about you is sent.
- Hosting — our servers are located in Mumbai, India. Backups are stored in India.
- Other users — creators can see the public handle, view count and earnings of clips submitted to their campaign; leaderboards show clipper display names and view counts.
- Government or law-enforcement bodies where we are legally required to.
We do not sell personal data.
5. How long we keep it
Account data is kept while your account is active and for 90 days after you delete it. Payment, invoice and payout records are kept for 8 years as required by Indian tax law. Server logs are kept for 90 days.
6. Your rights
You can view and edit your profile, payout details and linked accounts in the app at any time. You can ask us to correct, export or delete your personal data, or withdraw consent for optional processing, by emailing hello@clipadi.com. We respond within 30 days. If you are unhappy with our response you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
7. Cookies
We use two first-party cookies: a session cookie that keeps you logged in (expires after 7 days) and a cookie that remembers your light/dark theme preference. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
8. Security
All traffic is encrypted with TLS. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Access to production systems is limited to named staff with key-based authentication. If we ever suffer a breach affecting your data we will notify you and the Data Protection Board as required by law.
9. Children
Clipadi is for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children; if you believe a minor has an account, contact us and we will remove it.
10. Changes
We will post any changes to this policy here and, for material changes, email registered users. The date at the top shows the current version.
11. Contact and grievance officer
Privacy questions and grievances: hello@clipadi.com, or by post to the registered office listed on the contact page.
